Series of pictures of motorcycle riding

We occasionally run Treasure Hunts. The next one is on 4th September (or 11th if there is overflow, or 4th unsuitable for you). Here are details and entry form.

Adventure motorcycle tours in Wales

Our adventure riding tours are an ’away from it all’ experience visiting remote areas with beautiful scenery and sightings of wildlife including many birds such as buzzards and red kites, and animals. You can use your own bike, or if yours is not suitable, we can provide a bike for you. For more information, please go to the Adventure Bikes page.

Our adventure motorcycle tours use forgotten lanes and are ideal for adventure singles and twins, trail bikes, and also smaller classic bikes. You will ride roads with a gravel surface, and some which have grassed over. You will splash through fords, which are great fun, and up and down steep hills with first gear hairpin bends.

Adventure motorcycling is completely different to everyday riding. The roads are single width tracks and it is rare we meet other traffic. The routes often go high up in the hills, which provide beautiful views. For riders on the larger adventure bikes who enjoy a longer day, we can provide an extended route which can include some faster B roads with the lovely bendy bits you come to Wales for!

Ride Adventure are pleased to offer Touratech customers exclusive routes, dates and special offers, such as the chance to win a weekend's riding and accommodation! For adventure bike riders, we have three main categories of route: novice, challenging and extreme. Our novice Adventure Riding day is suitable for riders who have no previous offroad or trail riding experience. Our challenging day is aimed at the competent rider who has a little previous experience, such as going to an offroad school, but may be taking his own adventure bike on to loose surfaces for the first time. The extreme day is suitable for experienced riders who have a good bash plate fitted!

Adventure motorcycle tours are great for riders who have not long passed their test, and may be nervous about riding in traffic. Where we go there isn’t any! (Well, hardly any anyway.) If preferred, we can do a new riders’ route entirely on tarmac roads. We do not put new riders in groups with experienced riders. The new riders’ day is a shorter route than usual, and will include plenty of breaks to relax and discuss your riding and any concerns you may have. Our ride leaders are experienced instructors and will advise on techniques. If you have particular skills you wish to learn, the route can be designed to enable you to do so.

Your adventure riding day booking can include bed and breakfast accommodation, with the option of an evening meal if required. For more details, please see the Accommodation page.

As your adventure riding day is best in good weather, we are happy to give you the option to postpone if the weather forecast is for persistent rain all day. If you cannot postpone or are willing to brave the elements, it is possible to have an exciting and enjoyable day when it is really rainy as we end up riding along streams and through shallow floods! Dates in November and March could be affected by ice, and would need to be postponed, as the roads we ride are not gritted. We do not usually ride in December, January and February, but could do so by arrangement as long as the weather is above freezing and there is no risk of ice.

Adventure motorcycling bridges the gap between road and trail riding. The gravel and grassy roads we use introduce you to easy trail riding. If you would like a more challenging trail riding day, please see our trail riding website.

Does your motorcycle club support a charity?
If so, we are happy to donate a gift voucher worth £190 for your club’s raffle, auction or other fundraising activities. It will be valid for one year. Please email me, giving the club’s name, address and date you would like it valid from.
